Evidence in "Al-Wisāl" (1)
It provides proof that the reports stating that a stone was placed on the Prophet's stomach due to hunger are all false. The intended meaning of "stone" is actually a piece of cloth, as God provides sustenance to His messenger, and a stone does not alleviate hunger (2).
Commentary by Al-Dhahabi
Al-Dhahabi commented: "I say: He has included in his book the narration of Ibn Abbas about Abu Bakr and Umar setting out due to hunger and meeting the Prophet ﷺ who informed them, 'The same thing that drove you out, drove me out.' This indicates that he was fed and given drink exclusively during Al-Wisāl.
Narration of Imran bin Husain
It is also reported in the narration of Imran bin Husain that the Prophet ﷺ said to a man, 'Have you fasted anything from Sha'ban's last days?' The man replied, 'No.' The Prophet said, 'Then when you break your fast, fast two days' (3). This is a phrase of inquiry, intended to convey the prohibition of such an act, akin to his words to Aisha, 'Do you cover the walls?' (4). His instruction to fast two days in Shawwal was meant to conclude the fasting period. This applied during a full month, as the fasting period in a deficient month is one day shorter.
Further Clarification
Then it was said "12/(188)": "We say if it were a disapproved action, he would not have been asked to make up for it."

It is a mistake by Abu Hatim when he claimed that Al-Bukhari spoke critically of Abu Tamila, and this was also followed by Abu Al-Faraj Ibn Al-Jawzi. I did not find any mention of Abu Tamila in Al-Bukhari's book of "The Weak" narrators, neither in "Al-Kabir" nor "Al-Saghir." Furthermore, Al-Bukhari has authenticated Abu Tamila, who was a notable hadith scholar in Merv alongside Al-Fadl Ibn Musa Al-Sinani.

(1) It is: What was narrated from Anas, may Allah be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ observed uninterrupted fasting at the beginning of the month of Ramadan, so some Muslims followed his lead and fasted continuously. When this reached him, he said: "If the month had been extended for us, we would have continued the uninterrupted fast, to leave the extremists to their extremism. You are not like me," or he said, "I am not like you; my Lord provides me with food and drink." This was reported by Ahmad, Ibn Abi Shaybah, and Al-Bukhari "7241", and Muslim "1107". Refer to our critical edition of it at the specified location.
(2) It has been established that the Prophet ﷺ placed a stone on his stomach due to hunger as mentioned by Al-Bukhari "4101", and Ahmad "3/300" from the narration of Jabir bin Abdullah.
(3) Authentic: Reported by Al-Bukhari "1983" and Muslim "1161" from the narration of Imran bin Husain.
(4) Authentic: Reported by Ahmad "6/247", and Muslim "2107".
