359 - Abdullah narrated to us, saying: Muhammad bin Sahl bin Bassam Al-Azdi told me, from Hisham bin Muhammad, who said: Abdul-Rahman bin Uthman bin Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Hatib Al-Jumahi narrated to me, from his father, from Uthman bin Ibrahim, who said: "We, a delegation from Quraysh, went to Al-Waleed bin Abd al-Malik. When we were in a part of the land of Samawa, we stopped by a water source, and suddenly, a beautiful woman approached us (238). She arrived and stopped in front of us, saying: 'Bring forth a man who is dying. Bear witness to his last words, urge him to make a will, and prompt him.'

He said, 'So we stood up with her, and came to a man who was struggling for his life. We spoke to him, and found around him his children, little ones. If you were to spread a mat over them, it would cover them. They all appeared to have been born on the same day, six or seven in total. When he heard our words, he opened his eyes and began to cry, then said: [Al Bahr Al Kamil] 'Woe to my children who I will leave behind...for their weakness, they are not able to stand. It used to be in me that if a lifetime passed me by... I would stick around for my children until they came of age.'

He continued: 'He caused all of us to cry, and we didn’t stand up from his side until he died. So we buried him. Then we arrived at Al-Waleed, and mentioned this to him, so he sent for his family and children, brought them to him, provided for them, and treated them kindly.'
