Chapter on the Incident of Qatadah Ibn Nu'man Being Hit in the Eye

It was narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, threw an arrow during the Battle of Uhud, and it pierced the visor of his helmet. Qatadah Ibn Nu'man retrieved the arrow and it struck his eye, causing it to fall on his cheek. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, placed it back in its place, and his eye became better than before.

From the Narration of Asim Ibn 'Umar Ibn Qatadah

Asim Ibn 'Umar Ibn Qatadah reported that his grandfather Qatadah was wounded in the eye during the Battle of Badr. His eye bled onto his cheek, and the people wanted to cut it off. He said, "Shall we go to the Messenger of Allah to seek his opinion on this matter?" They went to him and informed him of the situation. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, called him closer and took care of the eye.

Explanation: The term "Siit" refers to the edge of the bow.

Source: The narration can be found in Ibn Hisham's biography (3:26), and it was also reported by al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir in his historical work (4:33-34).

The Prophet's Miracle of Restoring Eyesight

In a miraculous incident, a man brought his mother's lost eye to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Despite fearing that she would blame him, the Prophet restored the eye to its rightful place, and it regained its strength and health even after aging.

Hadith Transmission

Ali ibn Ahmad ibn Abdan reported that Ahmad ibn Ubaid narrated to them, from Abu Muslim Ibrahim ibn Abdullah, who narrated from Sulaiman ibn Ahmad, who narrated from Muhammad ibn Shu'ayb ibn Shaburah, who stated that he heard Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Firwah, reporting from 'Iyad ibn Abdullah ibn Sa'd ibn Abi Sarh, from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri, who narrated from Qatadah ibn al-Nu'man. Qatadah's brother from his maternal side lost his eye on the day of Uhud, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) restored it, and it became whole once again.
