Narration about Building the Mosque and the Patience of 'Ammar ibn Yasir - This account was conveyed by a group from Khalid al-Hadhha'. Abu 'Amr Muhammad ibn 'Abdullah al-Bistami informed us, saying: Abu Bakr al-Isma'ili reported to us, saying: 'Imran ibn Musa told us, who said: Wahb ibn Baqiyyah narrated to us, who said: Khalid, meaning the son of 'Abdullah al-Wasiti, narrated to us, who said: Ibn 'Abd al-Karim reported to us that Ishaq ibn Shahin said, narrated to us by Khalid from 'Ikrimah, from Ibn 'Abbas. He said to me and to 'Ali ibn 'Abdullah ibn 'Abbas, "Go to Abu Sa'id and listen to his Hadith." So we went to him, and found him by a wall. When he saw us, he came to us, took his cloak and sat down, starting to tell us a story. When he reached the part about building the mosque, he said, 'We were carrying one brick at a time while 'Ammar was carrying two bricks at a time.' The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saw this and started removing the dust from 'Ammar's head, saying, 'O 'Ammar, why don't you carry like your companions?' He replied, 'I seek reward from Allah.' The Prophet then removed the dust from him, saying, 'Woe onto 'Ammar! A rebellious faction will kill him. They invite him to Paradise, but he invites them to the fire.' 'Ammar said, 'I seek refuge in the Most Merciful from fitnah.'
