Chapter on the Miraculous Events Witnessed by Umm Ayman, the Caretaker of the Prophet, during her Emigration

Reported to us by Abu Abd al-Rahman al-Sulami, who narrated from Abu Muhammad ibn Ziyad al-Samdiy, who was informed by Abu al-Abbas al-Sarraj, who was related by Muhammad ibn al-Harith, who was told by Sinan, who narrated from Ja'far, who narrated from Thabit and Abu Imran al-Jowni, and Hisham ibn Hassan, they said: Umm Ayman emigrated from Mecca to Medina without any provisions. When she reached Rawha and the sun was at its peak, she suffered from extreme thirst. She said, "I heard distinct footsteps above my head. I raised my head and saw a bucket hanging from the sky, filled with white liquid. I took hold of it with my hands and drank from it until I was satisfied. After that drink, I fasted on that scorching day, and I roamed under the sun to feel thirsty, but I did not feel any thirst after that drink."
